Town of Boone, NC

Every Drop Counts

When you look out over the mountains and valleys of Boone, there appears to be plentiful water resources. However, as we discovered during a recent study, the amount of water available for potable uses is decreasing.

The key principals of water as natural resource are simple: access to water is a basic human right; it is a finite, degradable and irreplaceable resource; the availability of fresh water is subject to nature's laws. Boone's future water security relies on strong citizen involvement and knowledge to reach its goal of water conservation. This is why Boone Town Council recently approved the implementation of a Water Conservation Educational Program. This following links provide information on how you can help the Town of Boone reduce water usage.

Conserving water can help lower your water and wastewater bill, and also helps protect our natural water resources for future generations. Try the indoor and outdoor tips to reduce the water usage in your home and business.

There are many ways you can help protect the natural water resources in your community. Get involved by contacting us at the Public Utilities Department.
